The Making of Audrey2 aka twoeey (puppet)
theres no place like home
Feed me....!

I have started off with Audrey2 pod 1. In the show there are 4 pods altogether and i shall over the next however long it takes, (be trying to) recreate them all. I am working to my own plans and not those which come with the performance rights, which i have not seen. The main material i have chosen to use is polystyrene
First off i made a plasticine model of roughly what i thought i might want it to look like
then i made a pattern then it all gets stuck together with PVA glue....
next was to carve it and shave off all the extra bits. Please note this makes a terrible mess and i am reliably informed that who ever makes the mess..... gets the delights of cleaning it up, you have been warned.
now the mouth gets added in, this is the top
now that twoey is carved out a nice thick layer of PVA glue goes on the outside of it to fill all the dips and what not and give it a tough shell
Twoeey will now be left to lie in state for a day or two to make sure all the glue is dried properly. There is no way of speeding the process up with a hairdryer cause the glue will bubble. Pacience is a virtue. The next couple of days will be spent trying out paint with a bit more PVA glue.
TOP TIP : If you are making anything with polystyrene never use a hot glue like botic or uhu as it will melt it. You can generally not use spray paint or oils on it either. PVA will generally be your best friend.
And this is the bottom
